Which statistics class should I start with?
If you are interested in taking or need to take an introductory statistics course, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ offers the following courses: Math 111, Econ 290, Math 211, and Psych 211. Each of these courses satisfies the F6 requirement. Students should consider the following when deciding between these courses:
Are you, or do you intend to be, a Psychology major or minor? Are you interested in reading papers in Psychology? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then enroll in Psych 211.
Are you, or do you intend to be, a formal science (Math and Computer Science) or natural science major? Are you interested in reading research papers in statistics? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then you enroll in Math 211.
Are you, or do you intend to be, an Economics major or minor? Are you interested in reading research papers in Economics? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, then enroll in Econ 290.
If none of the above describes your interests and you would like to have a general applied statistics course that covers a wide range of statistical techniques and caters to the general liberal art audience, then you should enroll in Math 111.
